EVERYTHING’S FINE
“In 2020, the Doomsday Clock has been set closest to midnight since it was created – we are so close to the final hour that it stops giving it in minutes, but starts in seconds. The cataclysm suspended in the near future is one of the inseparable parts of the human imaginary. (…) The Annunciation represents a set of latent signals that often feed on common phenomena, transforming their meanings. I’m interested in how everyday life is subject to mutation through this. Before the catastrophe has washed away the known order, I am creating a collection of prophetic signals, points in the present, from which the murmur of our future can be heard. “

Baltazar Fajto – born in 1989, a graduate of the Faculty of Graphics of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow at the Photography Studio under the supervision of dr hab. Agata Pankiewicz, last year’s laureate of the 2019 Director’s Award of the Center for Contemporary Art in Toruń, finalist of the 15th edition of the Hestia Artistic Journey. For him, photography is a tool for communicating and creating new relationships with reality. He is interested in reading space and observing the exchange between what is inside and what is outside. He lives and works in Warsaw.
